“L” House East Gippsland

This is a concept design for a house located close to the water in East Gippsland. It is a weekender for a family with three bedrooms, a master ensuite and a shared bathroom and laundry. The house is centred around the living area with to the external entertaining area to the North and the pool and water beyond.

The building design is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional corrugated roof home. Its roof form is emphasised and provides a sloped internal ceiling space with highlight windows to the North to provide cross ventilation. The entry of the house is adjacent to the garage and intentionally hides the view until you are in the main living space.

The materials used are warm, dark tones of the Australian bush with a traditional corrugated iron roof and water tank.

Arcturus Architecture acknowledges the Gunaikurnai People, the Traditional Owners of the land on which Arcturus Architecture stands. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in East Gippsland, and their Elders past, present and emerging.
